Bob Benson

Head Sound Engineer

Bob’s clients appreciate his sense of humor. After sessions, Bob rewards his clients by allowing them to walk barefoot through his luxurious back hair. But, at Cerny/American we readily acknowledge that experience is not for everyone. Bob’s perilous life’s journey is inspirational to many. He was born deaf which he never considered a handicap to his engineering career. Still deaf to this day, Bob has built his career around lunch menu selection. Bob’s lunch menu book is the largest in Chicago. But, at Cerny/American we readily acknowledge that is not enough for everyone. That is why Bob has become a serious student of male exotic dance specializing in pole dancing. Anyone who has seen Bob pole dance in his rhinestone thong quickly acknowledges he does things no other sound engineer can do.

Here is a list of his accomplishments:

This is Bob’s 25th year of sound Engineering. (That’s 73 years in Dog Years, although dogs can hear higher frequencies than Bob. Flea counts are often similar, and back hairs are similar to most German Shepherds.)

In 2003, Bob nationally won the top sound design awards (The Silver Microphone and the Communicator Award) in radio. (In recognition of his achievement, Cerny/American rewarded Bob with a complimentary flea bath.)

Bob’s client list includes E-Bay (But we don’t allow him to have a charge card), Brown Fohrman Beverages (It figures.), Time-Warner & Pillsbury (He’s at home with animated characters.), and National City Bank (If they only knew.).
